A metal canopy at the popular ‘’Love Garden’’ in the University of Ibadan collapsed recently without being repaired, as the lockdown imposed by the Federal Government of Nigeria has forced students of tertiary institutions home.
The garden is beside the office of the institution’s outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Idowu.
Notable is that the garden was constructed during Prof. Olufemi Bamiro’s administration as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan while the University commemorated its 60th anniversary.
The garden is also called Gamaliel Onosode’s garden in celebration of the late boss of the Airtel Communications company.
Some of the seats at the Garden are also giving way to wear and tear.
Meanwhile, it appears flower paths are being made in the garden.
In another development, Mr. Philip Olatinwo, the expelled student of the University of Ibadan and the institution’s authorities would tomorrow, 17th July, 2017, receive judgment in the case at the Federal High Court, in Ibadan.
Judgment was to be handed last week but was postponed till tomorrow.
‘’Dear Phillip, This is to inform you that your matter at the Federal High Court, FHC/IB/CS/03/18 earlier scheduled for 10/72020 (for judgment) will now hold on 17/7/2020. This was communicated to us yesterday by the Court Registrar,’’ a text message forwarded to The Conscience Post read.
