Despite the resolution by the Non-academic Staff Union (NASU), and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), last Friday, that essential services could resume at designated units of the University of Ibadan, a reliable source at the Post Graduate (PG) Unit of the institution had said the admission exercise which started in 2020 might be postponed.

While speaking with The Conscience Post, a top admission officer at the PG School said there was a directive to stop the ongoing 2020 admission exercise in that a University of Ibadan Senate’s approval would be sought to merge the 2020 and 2021 admissions owing to the strike actions.

It should be noted that the resolution for resumption of essential services was because Prof. Ekanola, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, appealed to the striking Unions to resume the said services while the strike would still be ongoing to allow the University to raise funds from the designated units of the University to pay the Union members their arrears.

Text messages sent to Mr. Tunji Oladejo, the University’s Director of Public Communications, was not replied as at the Press time.
